Portraits - Final series

These are the final images I chose, I decided on them for various reasons, the overall theme being loss of identity and commercialism. I wanted the shots to feel both eerie and like those you may find in a magazine, however for these photo's everything thats 'not perfect' gets removed or changed.

To create these images and their effects I had to use mask layers, blur filters, the sponge tool, dodge tool, heal tool and eraser tool. It took a lot attempts to get these photo's looking the way I wanted, with each coming out slightly different.

This one is most definitely my favourite, I love the look on my models face and how well the post production editing turned out. This is probably the cleanest and neatest one of the 3 and the one I wanted to display most prominently.

The outcome of this piece comes across as tribal and far more aggressive than the previous photo. I like the stance I held in this photo as it can be seen as both confrontational or possibly more shy, both of which lend itself to my theme.

This last one is the most highly edited, with the face being highly manipulated and re-structured. This was another caught off guard expression and I like how it feels like the model is trying to subvert their gaze.
